02 — Our history

Three generations of copper, near Brussels.

  1. 1958 Falk N.V. is founded in Brussels, continuing the work of Nader, a silversmith from Anderlecht.
  2. 1962 Pieter Paul Van Achter takes over the company.
  3. 1977 His son Paul takes over manufacturing and trading, and pioneers copper–stainless bimetal.
  4. Today Jan Van Achter, Paul’s son, runs Falk Culinair in Wespelaar, 25 km from Brussels.

03 — The workshop

In its own workshop, in Wespelaar.

Copper and stainless steel are bonded under high pressure into one sheet. Each piece is then cut, shaped, ground and polished in the family workshop.

  • 0.2 mm Bimetal: stainless cooking surface
  • 850 t/cm² Bimetal: bonding pressure

04 — Why Falk copper

Copper, for everyday cooking.

  • A chef’s material, on a home hob

Copper pans have long been a tool of French kitchens. Falk layers copper with stainless steel, so they work on induction at home too.

  • Stainless inside

No re-tinning, ever: a copper pan you can cook with every day.

  • Induction too

All three series have a magnetic layer in the base.

  • A patina that deepens

The copper outside darkens into a warm patina with use; polish it and the shine comes back.

05 — Three series in Japan

Three series, one for each way of cooking.

  • Signature 2.0

07 — Care

Three things, for a lifetime of use.

  1. 01 Never heat it empty No need for high heat: use up to medium.
  2. 02 Wash and dry after use The stainless inside takes ordinary washing-up liquid.
  3. 03 Polish when you want the shine A copper cleaner brings the outside back to bright; letting the patina grow is the other pleasure of copper.
